Preface to the 2011 Edition of The Expanding Circle

The Preface to the 2011 Edition of Peter Singer's The Expanding Circle was penned by the author in 2010.  Having never read any of Singer's books I was surprised to learn that the purpose of this particular book is to evaluate the implications of sociobiology, otherwise known as evolutionary psychology, for human ethics.  The author also teased me, in a positive manner, by noting that, in the Afterword to the 2011 Edition, he explains why he is "now more open to the idea of objective reasons for action and objective truths in ethics that I was thirty years ago."

I assert, again, that one should read an original work oneself before judging the work.  This principle seems axiomatic, but it is often ignored by the intelligentsia.  The LIBERTARIAN BIOETHICS BLOGger shall read on.
